STUDENT AMENITY SPACE
The existing Mercury Point building was constructed approximately two decades ago and over that time the standard in student accommodation living has risen dramatically. The new proposals offer a large range of spaces that can be used in a variety of ways, from private study rooms, communal kitchens, gyms and cinemas.
Amenity space has become a vital part of the overall student experience and the communal spaces in many student blocks now more closely resemble boutique hotels. The current building also has very inactive façades, the new Richmond Street frontage will incorporate the main entrance and active amenity space with lots of activity.
